Get well soon Trev!Cool
I must admit I've been using my bike a little more since the lockdown to avoid getting on a bus (even bought a trailer to go on the back for Tesco 'expeditions' - thank God I've got an e-bike!BigGrin )
Was it another 'civvie' or one of those 'we own the road' racing bike types? I love being able to overtake them on a steep hill now!Flapper
Best wishes.

Thank you all for kind comments, I have had a go at a plastic model today, fingers still a bit stiff but ok (dropped few bits) though.

Hi Robin, it was a racing bike type, I could see it all going wrong for him on the other side of the road, where I live the roads are all small lanes about the size of a small car so you have to be careful, plus large tractor holes, I could see a bike moving very fast towards me so I stopped, then the other bike suddenly became Airbourne at the front? I can remember a face in my face but that's all, my crash helmet and right side took most of the impact, when I looked back he was flat-out in the road and not in good shape all he said was can you look at my new bike is it ok it cost me £3,000 I said where does it hurt the most he said all over, so where is your crash helmet I don't wear one!!

Says it all.

Regards

Hi again Trev!
Yep, that does say it all!Blink It sounds like your roads are very similar to ours down here! From Plympton to the 'local' Tesco at Lee Mill is about 4.5 miles but most of it is all through country lanes which is far better than the main roads, in fact the lanes are the old original A38 Plymouth to London road before they built the Dual Carriageway. Being Devon its about 50/50 uphill and down of course, and they're not shallow slopes either! I've had my Challenge G4 (Shuengye) e-Mountain bike for a couple of years now - all bright yellow (with matching helmet) it will go up the steepest hills with ease, 21 mechanical gears (those de-railly things) and 5 levels of pedal assist ( I have learned that it prefers less assist and more lower gears with the trailer on the back though BigGrin ) The nice part is its a folding bike with the battery locked away inside the frame so its easier to lock up whilst shopping. The hardest part was getting used to the trigger gear changers, my old MB was a twist grip, I keep changing up on hills when I meant to change down!Blushing
Hope the recovery goes well and take it easy (we're all getting older!)Crying
