BigGrin Hi Steve

Thanks for looking in and your comments, personally I have always thought the bare wood build would suit this build down to the ground to show off all those hardwoods and different colours. Although in the same way your painted build now gives others the chance to view both versions and decide what type of finish suits them.

Regards

AndyCool

Very nice Andy, do love the colour you have chosen for those decks, certainly gives it that aged and well used look.... Drool Drool

BigGrin Hi Alan

Thanks for looking in and your comments and thanks for the comments on the decks, I have been using Rustins dark teak wood dye on them then a couple of coats of matt varnish to seal them.

BigGrin Thank you both for looking in and your comments @ Ian there are 16 cannons all together 8 each side, They look slightly bigger than the ones provided for the full kit but have the cast metal carriages aswell.

BigGrin Hi All

The other gunwale has been added and the chainwale and belaying pin strips added along with some strip on the upper deck this finishes the majority of the hull build. The hull was sanded back and several coats of matt varnish sprayed on.
Next it was a start on the lower mast which has been tapered and the rubbing paunches and cheeks added. The thin strip provided for the rubbing paunches/cheeks is a little stiff so I recommend soaking in water before fitting in place.
Just a note on the pictures the ones before the mast picyures are of the hull after sanding but with the metal gun ports added to show how she will look and the ones aftre the masts are of the hull after 3 coats of matt varnish. More soon.

Regards

AndyCool

BigGrin Hi Bernd

Thanks for looking in and your comments, all the wood on the outer hull is as supplied with the kit and just matt varnished, just the inner hull has been uniformly coated with Rustins dark teak wood stain to get that dirty used look I wanted.
