Hi all,
Just started the rigging/sail fitting and wonder how long you should leave the tail on the lines once they are fixed to either the belaying pins or timber heads? And... is it necessary or advisable to fix the knots with diluted PVA as per all other knots thus far?

Hi Mark, this one is down to personal preference but on my builds I tend to secure the lines on the belay with a drop of glue and leave the tails short. I then like to add a couple of coils of line to hang over the belay, these are moistened with diluted PVA so they hold their shape when dry... Attached pic shows what I mean....

Hope it helps..

Regards

Alan

Thanks Alan. I thought as much but didn't want to commit until confirmed.
